Oh, bretheren and sesteren, how long it's been since we have broke nut together and enjoyed a contemplative evening of groove. The Pistachio family grows and grows, and we have been hard at work on other exciting projects like Life in Maps and The Beloved Stranger (affectionately known as Pirate Pistachio). But as they say back on Pistachion V, the nut never falls far from the tree, and it seems the flightless Pistachion birds have come home to roost.

That's right, I mean of course that Pistachio is getting back to what we do best: cramming our sweaty selves into tight vehicular quarters and blowing this proverbial popsicle stand, reaming down the highway, high on freedom and hungry for the next hoe-down (and burrito). We are going on TOUR at the end of August and kickin' it all off with a sweet show in San Francisco this thursday. Here are the dates and deets. Feel free to clear you schedules now to bask in this nutty niceness:

Thursday, July 20th - Neck of the Woods - San Francisco, CA - tickets: http://ticketf.ly/2tk6sJO

Friday, August 25th - Hotel Cafe - Los Angeles, CA - tickets: https://www.hotelcafe.com/tickets/

Sunday, August 27th - SECRET SHOW (keep thine eyes peeled for deteels)

Thursday, August 31st - Raven Cafe - Prescott, AZ - FREE SHOW!

Friday, September 1st - Flagstaff Brewing Company - Flagstaff, AZ

Saturday, September 2nd - 191 Toole - Tucson, AZ - tickets: http://ticketf.ly/2vvTmG1

We appreciate your love and support always and hope to see you at your local Pistachio dealer soon. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for further announcements and new music. And finally, wherever you go Pistachion, go with groove in your heart.

So much has happened and there is so much to share since our last post. First of all, we're home from tour! We had such an adventure and met so many cool people on the way. Our journey covered nearly 9,000 miles and took us from California to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. We met some amazing people, had some of the weirdest experiences of our lives, camped nearly every night, and toured more grocery stores then we'd like to admit. All in all it was more then we expected and we really can't wait to get back on the road.

Since then, we've been really busy playing shows all across the Bay and we've got a lot of upcoming fall dates across the West Coast that we're really excited for. One of the must-see ones is our Halloween show on Thursday, 10/29 at the Night Light in Oakland. Our plan is to dawn a "musical costume" of Simon and Garfunkel songs for the night. We'll be joined by Bay Area legends Your Fearless Leader, Sayers, and Lil' Elephant. Check out our full schedule below!

Beyond that, we're getting ready to record our album this December. We've got about 12 fresh tracks for you to bring in the new year with.

10/7 - San Francisco, CA - Boom Boom Room
10/16 - San Francisco, CA - Off the Grid Fort Mason

With Devin traveling the world, Antony and I have been hard at work filling our spring schedule, highly anticipating Devin's arrival stateside on February 22nd. And, well, thats really only a few weeks from now and the anticipation is truly killing us. With all that brewing, we're so excited to put out our first round of dates for this Spring. Over the past few months we've been working on a second set of material full of new originals and some fun covers we think you'll really dig. Our goal is to make every show different, debuting new songs and bringing the older tunes to different places. We don't know what this year will bring us but we hope it's nutty and we hope to have you along for the ride.

Oh and stay tuned...another single release and our full EP coming out in the next few weeks :))))

Here are the dates:

2/25 - Off the Grid Foster City
2/26 - Off the Grid Sunnyvale
2/27 - Ridge House Band Night
3/19 - Funky Dance Party @ The Stork Club
3/28 - Neck of the Woods
4/4 - Woodstock's Pizza Davis
4/15 - Madrone Art Bar SF

Much love and gratitude,
ZachPistachiotag:www.pistachiotheband.com,2005:Post/34659902015-01-14T09:25:31-08:002022-05-20T22:45:48-07:00Update from Devin on his Earthly TravelsGreetings Pistachions! It's been a crazy six weeks for me. I left California November 18th, and since then I've gone from sailing high seas off the coast of Colombia, to living with the indigenous Kuna people of the San Blas islands, to a night in Panamanian jail (long story), to eating caldosas at the foot of a volcano, to where I am now, living alone in the Costa Rican jungle. Here I've been practicing "mas o menos" carpentry, eating fresh bananas, and learning about the forest from a member of the local indigenous BriBri. I love it here in Costa Rica, where everyday I can watch monkeys from my kitchen and nothing ever dries. In a week or two I plan to continue north to Nicaragua before returning to California sometime in February. I am looking forward to playing with Pistachio again and continuing the musical journey we started together last Fall.

From Central America with love,

DevinPistachiotag:www.pistachiotheband.com,2005:Post/34505572015-01-03T11:14:53-08:002022-04-13T15:51:36-07:00I've Seen the Grass - special releaseHey Everybody,

Happy new year here from Pistachio. We've decided to call it Tehuantepec - the name of the gulf in Central Mexico where the band first took root (and obviously, where our spaceship crashed).
